Figure Skating at the First Arena
Group lessons are offered thru our skating school, sponsored by the Skating Club of the Southern Tier, for those beginning in figure skating - please see learn to skate section for details. Advanced lessons and clinics are listed below.
Southern Tier Sizzle Synchronized Team - see Synchro section for more details. Sponsored by the Skating Club of the Southern Tier and The First Arena.
Freestyle Sessions are sponsored by the First Arena and the Skating Club of the Southern Tier and are open to any ISI or USFS member. Proof of current membership required prior to skating. Skaters may pay a "walk-on" fee or purchase discounted ice time packages. Although they are listed as "Freestyle" on the calendar, we welcome those skaters to participate in Ice Dancing and Moves in the Field. Guest coaches are welcome, subject to First Arena policies. Walk on Cost: $25 per session (Ice Only 6-7:30) Price ice discounted when purchasing a package. Discount packages are available for skating 1 day, 2 days, or the all inclusive with ice time and instruction.
The more ice you purchase, the lower the per hour cost..
Please note: In order to keep costs where they have been in the past, and be able to secure our ice times, we had to make adjustments to our partnership with the arena. We have implemented a volunteer policy this year thru the Skating Club to help keep costs down and reward our loyal skaters. Details will be handed out at registration. All skaters are welcome to participate in any of our programs/sessions.

Intro. to Dance, Intro. to Synchro, Intro. to Ensemble, Intro. to Rhythmic Skating, Choreography & Style, and much more... Join our club professionals for an opportunity to learn and try many of the exciting disciplines of skating that you may not know about.
For more details, please check with Skating Director. Class is open to all skaters Gamma level and above (above Basic 4). For those who participated in the Fall session, we will continue on thru the levels, as they build on each other.
Cost: $ 80 for 8 weeks (includes instruction)
or purchase as part of discounted package. Skaters are encouraged to purchase the package, as these classes will be in a series and build on each other. This is a great class for skater interested iin participating in competitions and/or shows. Walk-ons will be accepted at the instructor's discretion, based on availability at $15 per session. A minimum number of pre-registrations are needed or the class will be cancelled.

Full Ice Package: $500 (Includes: Wed. Freestyle, Wed. Clinic, Sun. Freestyle, Sun. Clinic). Best Deal! A Full 12 weeks of ice and instruction...MUST BE PREPAID IN FULL BY SEPT. 15th. Includes an additional $40 savings off the packages below!
Wed. Only Package: $300 (Includes: Wed. Freestyle & Clinic)
Sun. Only Package: $240 (Includes: Sun. Freestyle & Clinic)
Wed. Ice Only Package: $240 (Includes Freestyle Ice Only - 6:00-7:30pm, no instruction)
Sun. Ice Only Package: $160 (Includes Freestyle Ice Only - 6:00-7:30pm, no instruction)
*The First Arena reserves the right to cancel sessions, due to lack of pre-registration enrollment. Space is limited. There will be no refunds or make ups. Sessions will be capped if necessary, and walk-ons limited. Package skaters will receive priority. Skating director reserves the right to cancel or combine classes/ice times based on enrollment.
